Our Jim Trail Story
Jimtrail was born from a commitment to finding the genuine locations described in Jim Corbett's books. For decades, many Corbett locations have been misidentified, relocated through folklore, or simply accepted through repetition without verification. Our work follows a different path. Through detailed study of Corbett's narratives, historical maps, topographical features, village records, and extensive field expeditions, we have worked to identify and verify the actual locations connected with some of Corbett's most famous hunts. This research has involved years of exploration throughout Kumaon and Garhwal, comparing minute details from Corbett's own descriptions with the landscape itself. Working alongside local historians, village elders, and experienced field researchers, Quinton Ottley and Roy Ellis have undertaken extensive verification work at locations including Thak, Kanda, and Panar, resulting in the installation of commemorative plaques marking historically significant sites. Every Jimtrail expedition is built upon this foundation of research, field verification, and historical accuracy. We do not follow folklore. We follow the trail that Corbett himself described.
An unforgettable adventure that touched my soul.

Our Promise
Our expeditions are guided by research undertaken directly at the locations themselves. Visitors have the opportunity to visit a number of sites that have been identified, researched, and commemorated through recent fieldwork, including locations associated with the Kanda and Panar man-eaters and the famous Thak tigress. These are not approximate locations or local legends. They are sites carefully matched to Corbett's own descriptions and verified through on-ground investigation.
